Simran Purewal is a MSc Comparative Social Policy student. Her academic interests include the social determinants of health, immigration, and community-engaged research.
She is also a Research Associate at Simon Fraser University in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Prior to joining Oxford, Simran completed a Bachelors degree in Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University, graduating with the Dean's Convocation Medal. She previously worked as a Developmental Evaluation Researcher and a Research and Engagement Associate at the Pacific Institute on Pathogens, Pandemics, and Society.
Working in the health and social inequities theme, she conducted community-engaged research with priority populations to understand the direct and indirect effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on priority populations
