Shrutika Jha is a MSc candidate in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation at the University of Oxford, and a Chevening Scholar (selected among ~1% of applicants globally for leadership potential and impact). She is a policy and research professional with five years of experience leading mixed-methods research and impact evaluations across government and civil society contexts in India. Her work has focused on child protection, justice systems, and institutional accountability, with particular attention to how evidence can strengthen governance and improve outcomes for vulnerable populations.
Shrutika previously completed an MA in Social Work (Criminology and Justice), where her research examined the lived experiences of families navigating the criminal justice system. She has led more than sixty policy research and evaluation projects, advising central and state government agencies as well as multilateral organisations. Her current research at Oxford evaluates the adequacy of policy and institutional responses to online sexual exploitation of children in low- and middle-income countries, with a focus on COVID-19 and emerging AI-enabled risks. Her broader interests lie at the intersection of governance, digital safety, and child rights, particularly in understanding how institutions can adapt to technological and social change while upholding equity and accountability.
