Nicola Tomlin

Nicola’s research focuses on the policymaking of the Just Transition in the EU, with particular emphasis on the role of carbon-intensive industries, social protection systems, and political partisanship. Prior to joining DSPI, Nicola coordinated policy files within the European Green Deal as an assistant policy officer at the German Ministry of Social and Labour Affairs. In 2022, Nicola graduated summa cum laude from Leiden University College with a BSc in Liberal Arts and Sciences: Global Challenges, majoring in Governance, Economics, and Development.

Nicola’s research is funded through the ESRC Doctoral Training Partnership and the Hans-Böckler-Stiftung.
