Mark Orkin is a Visiting Professor in the Development Pathways to Health Research Unit at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg (Wits). Since his retirement in 2010 he has participated from a statistical perspective in the research programmes of Professor Lucie Cluver of DSPI, and is a co-author on some thirty related papers.
He was previously CEO of the Human Sciences Research Council, Head of National Statistics, Professor of Management at Wits, and founder-director of the Community Agency for Social Enquiry, an anti-apartheid social research NGO.Â
