Lin Chen is currently a DPhil candidate in the Department of Social Policy and Intervention (DSPI) at the University of Oxford, under the supervision of Professor Jane Barlow. She holds an M.Sc. in Social and Cultural Psychology from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and an B.A. in Sociology with Social Psychology from the University of York.

Lin’s research focuses on the dynamic features of mentalizing and reflective functioning in early parenting. She explores how individual and situational risk factors influence the performance of mentalizing in real-life settings, adjusted by cultural context and demographic characters. Through her doctoral research, Lin seeks to uncover evidence and identify opportunities of interventions that enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of parental mentalizing.
