Karan is currently studying for the MSc in Comparative Social Policy at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. His research interests revolve around the politics of housing policy and the welfare state across OECD states. Particular interest areas include the privatisation of social services, social housing provision, and the influence of political institutions on policymaking.
Before coming to Oxford, Karan studied a conjoint Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (double majoring in Political Sciences and French) degree at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, graduating with First Class Honours as an Outstanding National Scholar.
Karan has worked in a diverse range of public policy, strategy consulting and law firms in New Zealand, Australia, and South-East Asia. Most recently, he worked on educational strategy for the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability in Sydney, Australia.
Karan currently lives between Oxford and Paris. He speaks English and French.
