Dr Inga Steinberg is a Research Fellow at the Observatory for Mathematical Education (OME), University of Nottingham. Prior to this, she completed her PhD in Social Policy at the Department of Social Policy and Intervention (DSPI), University of Oxford. Her thesis explored the ways in which degree field of study, gender, and parental occupation shape entry into and persistence in STEM work among British graduates.Â
Since 2020, Inga has additionally worked alongside Professor Erzsébet Bukodi and Dr John Goldthorpe on the "A study of elite mobility in Britain" research project investigating the schooling and social origin of British elites.
Inga's broader research interests lie in (STEM) education and social and economic inequalities, with a particular focus on social origin.Â
