Shreyanka Chandel

Shreyanka is studying for an MSc in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation. Their academic interests lie at the intersection of technology, policy, and social justice — with a particular focus on the socio-economic dimensions of technology-driven development and the role of civic capacity-building in empowering marginalized communities. At Oxford, Shreyanka continues to explore how open data, as well as data protection measures influence access to social protection benefits among low-income households.

Previously, Shreyanka worked in government and social impact consulting in India. They contributed to the development of a digital knowledge platform at NITI Aayog, Government of India, aimed at strengthening evidence-based decision-making among government officials, with a focus on gender and social inclusion. Their work also included research on leveraging digital public goods to support NGO-led capacity-building efforts, and contributions to an LGBTQI+ Welfare Action Plan through the development of targeted measures promoting entrepreneurship and skill development for transgender individuals, grounded in community consultations.

Shreyanka holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Delhi and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Rights Law from the National Law School of India University.
