Matej is a Martin Filko scholar (awarded by the Slovak Ministry of Education), studying for an MSc in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation. His research interests include social determinants of health, health in marginalized communities, and the political elements of policymaking.
Prior to joining Oxford, Matej graduated with a BSc in Political Science (Cum Laude) from the University of Amsterdam. He worked as a policy analyst in a think-tank in Slovakia and as an external expert with the Slovak Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Roma Communities. Matej also held various volunteering positions at the Slovak Debate Association, including leading a mentoring program and coaching debate clubs.
