PROJECT TITLE
Where SNAP works: Understanding the place effects of food welfare
Principal investigator:Â Dr Benjamin Chrisinger
Project outline
Â
This project explores the place-based effects of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (‘SNAP’), one of the largest welfare programmes in the United States. Local differences in programme administration offer unique opportunities to apply innovative quantitative research designs to understand how and where the program works, including how it supports individual health and wellbeing as well as neighbourhood food environments.
