Dr Inge Vallance is the Senior Research Manager for the Global Parenting Initiative (GPI). The GPI is a five-year collaboration of universities, foundations, and implementing partners, with the aim of providing access to free, evidence-based, playful parenting support to every parent, everywhere, so that they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to help their children realise their potential. Her role involves supporting a series of innovative research-within-implementation studies on digital and hybrid playful parenting programmes in South Africa, Tanzania, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Uganda.

Inge is an experienced research manager with significant experience working on studies of parenting interventions within low-resource settings. She has been involved in the Parenting for Lifelong Health (PLH) interventions for young children and adolescents since their initial development and testing in South Africa. PLH is a suite of open-access parenting programmes developed through a collaboration between WHO, UNICEF as well as various universities and non-profit partners. In addition to PLH randomised trials, Inge has also worked on the Scale-Up of Parenting Evaluation Research (SUPER) study and the COVID-19 Parenting Emergency Response. Before joining the team in Oxford, Inge worked with Clowns Without Borders South Africa as Senior Technical Advisor providing monitoring and evaluation support to PLH implementing partners around the world. Inge holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Cape Town.
